The original inspiration for Thought Control, rekindling the work from a prior Pink Floyd tribute. Jason has performed as a guitarist and keyboardist in several original and covers bands over the years.
Jason plays Fender and Manson electric guitars, a Gibson lap steel, and Taylor and Ibanez acoustic guitars.
The accurate sounds come courtesy of Fractal Audio devices, closely modelling the HiWatt amplifiers, Marshall and WEM cabinets, along with the numerous pedals that David Gilmour brings together to recreate the guitar parts from all eras of the Pink Floyd repertoire.
Ed was the first member to join forces with Jason in creating Thought Control, realising a long-term ambition to sing some of the most poignant lyrics of the last 50 years or so.
With a unique ability to express the contrasting styles of both David and Roger, the emotion of these songs is captured perfectly.
Ed also adds an extra dimension with some percussion parts and listen out for the occasional Echoes 'ping'!!
Chris has performed and toured worldwide, with bands, tributes and many original artists. He is also a guitar teacher in his local area.
In a return to his roots, Chris has been part of Thought Control since 2020.
Chris plays Fender, PRS and Gibson electric guitars, Taylor and Martin acoustic guitars. Amplification is courtesy of Fender, and his pedalboard is bristling with pedals and gadgets of all descriptions.
James has been a long-time collaborator with Jason on several other musical projects and is definitely our resident gear accumulator!
His musical background is far reaching; rock, pop, soul and musical theatre all have a place in his heart.
James has a myriad of basses and amplifiers in his collection, both fretted and fretless to capture those low-end tones and some interesting sound effects.
Ian has toured nationally and internationally for over 20 years, as a multi-instrumentalist, performer, teacher and musical director.
He has been a member of Thought Control since 2022, and the textures and depth he gives to our live sound are a key part of the immersive experience of our shows.
Ian plays a Clavia Nord Stage keyboard, a Korg Kronos/Nautilus synthesizer and sax duties are courtesy of Yanagisawa.
Andy is the most recent to join Thought Control, but you wouldn't know this to hear him. From orchestral, jazz and big-band, through to rock, pop and soul, he's pretty much done it all. Until now!
Andy plays a Yamaha Absolute Hybrid kit, 'green is the colour', along with Paiste Signature cymbals and Roland sample pads.
Meg has performed and recorded vocals since an early age, both as a member of various originals and cover bands, and as a serssion artist.
Being a lifelong fan, Meg brings not just stunning vocals, but an encyclopaedic knowledge of Pink Floyd songs and lyrics to Thought Control.
Mandy has a background in musical theatre, with countless performances in the local dramatic society scene.
Add to this everything between classical and jazz and it is clear to see how she has given Thought Control a new dimension, particularly in those higher registers.
Sally draws upon years of work as a vocalist, along with sax and percussion skills, much of which has resulted in touring, both nationally and internationally.
As our third backing vocalist, together they are instrumental in recreating the rich vocal content that is a key part of Thought Control.
